A Bit About Me

I am Aurelio Porfiri, a musician, composer, conductor, and author with over 40 years of experience in sacred music. A graduate in Choral Music and Conducting from the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples, I hold a Fellowship in Composition from Trinity College London. I have worked as an organist and music director in some of Rome's most iconic churches, including St. Peter’s Basilica. As a prolific composer and author, I have published over 60 books and numerous musical works internationally. Passionate about tradition and innovation, I am dedicated to sharing the beauty of sacred music worldwide.

Work Experience

September 1993-May 2008

July 1999-June 2008

August 2008-September 2015

At Saint Peter’s Basilica, I served as substitute organist for the Vicariate of Vatican City (1993-2008) and organist for Papal Audiences (1999-2008), contributing to liturgical excellence and sacred music.

At Santa Susanna, the American National Church in Rome, I served as Director of Music, overseeing choral and liturgical music, directing ensembles, and enriching the worship experience through sacred compositions.

In Macau, I was Associate Professor at the University of Saint Joseph, Director of Choral Activities at Santa Rosa da Lima School, and Director of Musical Activities at Our Lady of Fatima School.
